One Man's Take on Essential Oils

It is 1:30 in the morning and my stomach is on fire. For the last 30 minutes or so all I could do was sit here doubled over and rock like a baby. The sweating has finally stopped and I’m not really shaking any more. My back is still sore from the spasms in my abdomen but that will pass quickly, it usually does.
I have had attacks like these for as long as I can remember. It often goes the same way all the time I will be sleeping soundly dreaming of sugar plums or what have you. Then like I shot I am up. Sweating and hurting, a fire in my gut that I just can’t put out.

When I was a kid they said it was ulcers and gave me some thick chalky type liquid that tasted worse than the pain felt. It never really helped it just gave me something else to focus on as I suffered through the night. It would often last all night.

As I got older I would drink 'till I did not notice the pain any more but then I would pay for that the next day. The best way to fight a hangover though is to keep drinking. That would start a vicious cycle so it was not the best choice.

Then I tried pain pills. They never really stopped the pain but it would knock me out so I would sleep through it and that was good enough. The problem with pain pills though is doctors won’t just give them out to everyone... even when you really need them.

Then again doctors have never been much help for this problem. I have seen quite a few over the years always with the same complaints. Always there would be tests, and more visits, and specialist, and co pays, and deductibles, and the list goes on and on.

All that effort and no relief, or any answers, just a prescription for an overpriced ineffective medication.  I do not like going to the doctor. One doctor, the last doctor, on my last visit, wanted to shove a camera down my throat or up my bum.... That was almost two years ago.

Tonight though I have relief. All from a little bottle of oil that I just rub on my tummy. You see my wife, who too had grown disillusioned with our modern medical system for her own reasons, had discovered essential oils. I don’t want to get in to too many details but she has a website that is all about it and you can find out more at apothekayla.com.

The long and the short of it is she found a concoction that works. I am still not one hundred percent sure about what ails me but she knows how to make it feel better. After years of suffering I finally found relief.

After that we tried all sorts of new oils and natural healthcare products. She does a heal-all salve that I use my fair share of. Working in the yard has put a lot of cuts and scrapes on this old man and that salve heals them up fast.

A day in the yard will put a strain on the body so a good rub down with dandy oil is the best way to sooth sore muscles. That’s just a few of the tricks in her bag to keep me going.

I have work in the morning so I am about to go back to bad. Which is nice because in the past this would have been only the beginning of a long, bad night. Not tonight though, tonight was just a reminder to write a quick post about why I love essential oils, and my wonderful wife who introduced me to them.
