5 Ways to stay motivated as a Blogger!

While yes, we are in the middle of an RV makeover, I promised a while back that I would make time to finish the #BlogLife101 series.Motivation is a very important topic and if you are blogging already then you are well aware that it takes motivation to continue posting.

Even if you have tons of motivation now you should save this to your bookmarks or favorites in your browser for when you loose steam. So here we go..
1- Make sure your niche makes your heart throb! I'm serious.. if your niche doesn't inspire you alone then change it.

Writing about topics that inspire you help you stay motivated. If your blog is centered around a topic that is always on your mind then surely you will always be thinking of new ways to share those topics on your blog.

2- Network:

This may seem random, but making blogger friends will help you to stay motivated specifically if you are working on projects together. Another useful thing to know is that if you want to you can add other administrators to your blog who can also write posts pertaining to your niche.

"But how do I network?" The answer is easy, if you are already on social media sites search for groups about blogging or use your favorite search engine to find forums on the topic.

3-Your blog is exactly where it should be so stop comparing it to other blogs.

One thing to remember is this, you don't know how quickly or how long it took someone to get to where they are with their blog. You also have no idea about the amount of money someone spent to make their blog what it is; there  are apps, paid designs, and social media boosting schemes. The only thing I have paid for is my domain name, other than that I have had to learn everything I know. That alone, the learning part, is a huge accomplishment.

So what if you don't have as many followers as you would like, as Marie Forleo says: "if you're talking to everyone you're doing it wrong". This means that you should write about what you love to write (or vlog) about, those who are as enthused about your niche as you are will find you if you label, share on social media, and stay persistent.

The only race you are running here is with yourself, try to be better today than you were yesterday.

4- Take notes of your accomplishments (big or small).

Go ahead, spend ninety nine cents on yourself and purchase a small notebook to jot down the things that you consider to be a success.

Did you hit the 100 followers mark on Twitter? Write it down.

Did three entire people comment on your latest blog post? Write it in your tiny notepad!!

Did one of your friends finally decide to take your blog seriously and you knew because they had a relevant conversation with you about something they would have only known, had they read your blog? That is a big success, scribble it down!

These types of accomplishments are huge! Any milestone that makes you smile should go into your "Blog Success" notebook. One day when you have 3,000 followers and people are hanging on your every word it will be refreshing and motivating to see how far you have come in your own handwriting!!

5- Have fun!

The best yet most simple piece of advice here is to have fun! Why? Well honestly because there are many things we have to do that are no fun at all (for me it's homework) so why would I even consider blogging if it wasn't a fun hobby?

While blogging can be a serious profession it doesn't have to be suits and ties and board meetings. Even if you are collaborating with others on your blog you could meet up at the local pool, or coffee shop to talk about your upcoming plans.

Also, talk to your readers.. as in "Hey everyone" or better yet read #4 again. When you blog you are not writing a final essay for your English class you are talking to people. People who usually genuinely care about what you have to say & consider you a friend even if you don't personally know them. So have fun when writing to them!

Well my friends... ;) this pretty much sums up my advice on how to stay motivated as a blogger. I can only write from my personal experience and yes there have been times that I have lost steam. However, I use these five steps and keep on keeping on!

Tell me in the comments section how you stay motivated as a blogger!

Until next time, live the life you love!!
