Hello everyone!
This is a very exciting post as we finally found the right RV for our needs!
On 7-7-14 we drove home in our 1988 Fleetwood Tioga Arrow which is a Class C and 26 feet long.
A sound motor and safe structure were at the top of our list and I feel like this RV definitely has both!
This video is the "before" video that the car lot made for sales purposes.
I have already taken out the ugly curtains and we found an ant colony (yikes) that we had to deal with first. We plan to paint the entire interior, make new curtains, and eventually rearrange the kitchen/ living area around to suit our needs for living full-time in an RV.
We are still learning about our RV and each time we step inside we find another cool trick it can do! I can tell you that Fleetwood made some awesome motor homes in the eighties because this baby is still in wonderful condition and going strong!
Overall we are extremely pleased with our purchase and excited to take her for a road trip!
-Our plan is to head out full force in the middle of August, after the family beach trip to live full time in our RV while we get a head start on our Journalism careers.
So.. you may be thinking: "Why did you name her the Defiant?"
Good question!!
We are huge Star Trek fans, our small blue cat is even named after the show. We would have named our yellow cat after a character.. but he was already named when we took him in.
Our car's name is The Rio Grande which is the run-about, aka: small ship for running errands, that docks on
the ship named The Defiant!!
We have had our car for over three years and had no clue when we bought/ named it that we would ever live in an RV. However, now that we have our RV it makes perfect sense to call it The Defiant because it ties in with the name of our car & our lifestyle as fulltime RV'ers pretty much defies the norm (as far as lifestyles go) in our society.
So, my friends, there you have it. This is the introduction to our first home/ RV/ vessel for fulfilling our dreams! We will, of course, post more about the updates we make and keep you all informed about travel plans!
