Our 4th year of wedded bliss!

We wanted to take a break today from the #BlogLife101 series and the normal day to day chaos (aka life) to wish each other a Happy Anniversary.

Usually we go to Myrtle Beach SC, for a few nights to escape it all and play at the penny arcade, but this year we have too much going on and not enough time to accomplish it all.

When we first met we had an almost instant feeling of being totally comfortable together and felt as if we had known each other for many life-times.

During our relationship together being in love with each other has been the easiest part of our lives by far. We may have gone through our times of fear, doubt, stress, more stress, and change but through all of that we never had to question whether or not we were right for each other.

So many people (friends and family) have told us that we should write a book about our love for each other and how we make it work. "A book?"- we ask.. "but it's so simple..."

We are simple in our expectations but extravagant in our dreams.When we met in 2008 both of our lives were falling apart and neither one of us were looking for a relationship, so we decided to be best friends first. After being together for a year and a half Robert surprised Kayla in front of all of our friends and family in a suit and tie by asking for her hand in marriage. She said yes!!

We agreed early on that if we had to lie to each other it better be about a surprise. We knew that the only constant in life is change and that we had to be willing to grow and change together. We also figured out early on that money is a game, that was not worth arguing about. We had to decide how much money we needed to live the life we wanted, and figured out how to best use our talents to win the game (aka money).

We. Are. Best. Friends. Still today! We tell each other everything and love spending our time together.

So today, on the eve of our forth anniversary of wedded bliss we just wanted to use our blog for a moment of PDA ;) and share with the world how glad we are that we met!

When you find the one you love, be best friends first & practice the H.O.W.: Being Honest, Open minded, and Willing to change/ grow with each other.
