When I grow up...

When I was a child I would change the end of the phrase "When I grow up I want to be..." all the time.

One week I would want to be a professional vocalist (singer), the next I would want to be a poultry scientist, and the next week I wanted to be a cosmetologist.

On our About Us page I go into a little bit of detail about how I changed my college major from Health Sciences (I was going to school originally to be an x-ray tech or possibly a nurse) to Journalism.

The fortress was cracked open.

As I am sure our readers are well aware that the Winter's are about to pack up the Winter Stead and hit the road. We hope to find ourselves in some type of mobile something or other (RV). We know it might be a pain to travel with two cats but they are coming with us. Our chickens though are not so lucky, we can not travel with them. 

So today I am going to share the recipe we used to fry them up... Just kidding!!

Goodness

Some days I feel as though I wasted time being nice to someone or helping someone because they are so quick to place the blame on me, or the ones that I love.

On those days I like to disconnect myself from the internet for a while to think about the choice that I have made to be a good person and to contemplate the tests that keep appearing where I decide to be the bigger person and step away from an argument/ situation/ feud where my voice/ thoughts/ emotions mean nothing and would only add fire to fire.

When I do get back online (usually to finish up a homework assignment) I find myself "Googleing" quotes about the type of day I've had or situation I am going through. Today my search was:

What's up with WinterStead?


You already know that we are masters at doing something new.

This time, however, we have chosen a dream SO big that we are going to have to be diligent about our research, time management, and resource management more than ever. 

We are masters at making budgets stretch, so as long as we know our budget we will be fine.
We have also mastered the art of turning trash into treasure and loving every minute of it. As far as research goes… well we tend to get lost and spend hours researching. This makes me think that research is a hobby of ours…
